Jacksonville Police Motorcycle Challenge Oct. 14, 2006

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO), Adamec Harley-Davidson, Brumos Motor Cars, Venus Swim Wear, and Exum Communications presented the 2nd Annual Jacksonville Police Motorcycle Challenge on Saturday Oct. 14 at Alltel Stadium at 9 a.m.
The challenge was open to any police officer in the nation who is currently or has been assigned to a motorcycle unit. |

There were four courses available for the riders: Cloverleaf Offset, Loopty Loop, Winged Wheel and THE JSO. |

The JSO Motorcycle Team won the Motorcycle Challenge. During the event over 85 officers from as far away as New Jersey participated in the challenge.

JSO views these competitions as a integral piece of police training for the officers. JSO uses 16 motorcycle officers for traffic enforcement, and the officers are assigned throughout Duval County.

"Due to the increase in motorcycle accidents statewide, JSO, along with other leading law enforcement agencies across the northeast understand the importance of these skill challenges. Proceeds from the event benefit the Jacksonville Fraternal Order of Police Foundation, Northeast Florida Chapter of Concerns for Police Survivors and Police Athletic League of Jacksonville. In 2005 the inaugural Light the City Ride and Motorcycle Challenge raised over $50,000 for these charitable organizations.
