Police Officer of the Month
Pete Goody

Police Marine Officer Pete Goody was chosen as December's Officer of the Month because he demonstrates superior decision making skills when faced with life threatening situations on Jacksonville's waterways.

Corrections Officer of the Month
Harlan J. Peterson


Corrections Officer Harlan J. Peterson received the Corrections Officer of the Month award because of the diligent way he performs his duties at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility.

Civilian of the Month
Emma Barnard


Emma Barnard, Account Clerk, from the Community Transition Center (CTC) was honored as December's Civilian of the Month because of her excellent investigative skills and attention to detail.

Reserve Officer of the Month
James J. Smith

James J. Smith received  December's Reserve Officer of the Month award because he consistently does the right thing at the right time.

Police Sergeant of the Month
Gary S. Cobb

Police Sergeant Gary S. Cobb won the  Police Sergeant of the Month because of the excellent example he sets for the officers in Zone 2.

Six Pillars Award Recipient
Retired Police Officer T. Dewayne Singleterry

Retired Police Officer Dewayne Singleterry received the Six Pillars of Character Award because he and his family displayed all of the Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship when they recently added five children to their family. The Singleterry's became the legal guardians of the children after their mother passed away following a three year battle with cancer.

The award is given in partnership with Character Counts in Jacksonville, a local non-profit organization. Click here for more information about the 6-Pillars of Character Award.
