Two Heroes, Two Medals of Valor and Two New Co-Sponsors
During the Oct. 25 Meritorious Awards Ceremony, Corrections Officer James F. Wade, PTDF; and Police Officer Folin L. Christmas, DUI Unit; were awarded two Medals of Valor for separate acts of heroism at the risk of their own lives.
Medals of Valor are extremely rare; only four others have been awarded in the last 10 years. Congratulations to these courageous officers, who placed their lives in danger to save others.
The JSO would also like to say thank you to our community partners, First Coast Security Services and the Justice Coalitions for co-sponsoring the Medal of Valor and Meritt awards- we appreciate your recognition and support of our officers.
