Officer Terrance R. Hightower is the Police Officer of the Month for October because of the hard work, dedication and smart thinking he used during the Hughes murder investigation.

Sharon E. Floyd is the Corrections Officer of the Month because of her strict adherence to security policies in the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and the manner in which she relates to her charges, the Juvenile Offenders.

Civilian of the Month
Judicial Officer Joanne Guittar is October's Civilian of the Month because of her  ability, demeanor and calming presence   she brings to the Domestic Violence Section of the Duval County Court House.

Reserve Sergeant Ronald L. Allen is the epitome of the man to call when you need something done. Ronald is one of four supervisors who headquarters can call on at any time for any given situation.

Sergeant Steve J. Barreira is the Police Supervisor of the Month because of his creation of the Trespass data base system and embracing the Sheriff's Office philosophy of "continuous improvement."

Corrections Supervisor of the Month, Sergeant Vanessa A. Tranquille is a 15-year veteran of the Corrections Department. With each year of experience, Sergeant Tranquille's ability to lead and inspire others around her grows.
