Undersheriff Frank Mackesy and Police Officer of the Month, Amy B. Coarsey
Detective Coarsey was recognized as February's Police Officer of the Month because she is a skilled investigator. Less than 36 hours after receiving an armed burglary and sexual battery case, Amy was able to successfully close the case.

Undersheriff Frank Mackesy and Hubert T. Hensley, Corrections Officer of the Month, Purple Heart recipient, and a Finalist for the Florida Sheriff's Association 2006 Corrections Officer of the Year Award. Corrections Officer Hensley was injured while trying to assist another corrections officer, subdue a violent inmate several months ago. When later asked why he put himself in such danger, Officer Hensley responded, "I did not even think about it; I just acted."
To further demonstrate his tenacity, Officer Hensley came to work the following morning with a headache and sore arm- ready to work another day.

Undersheriff Frank Mackesy and Clerical Support Aide II Alayna S. Tarver
Alayna S. Tarver is February's Civilian of the Month because she always shows team spirit in carrying out her duties in the Alarms/Citations Unit.Alayna provides admirable results, maintains excellent attendance, and looks for opportunities to assist others.

Undersheriff Frank Mackesy and Reserve Officer Bill Cuartero
Since August of 1990 Reserve Officer Bill Cuartero has been riding patrol in the Arlington area. For 16 years, Bill has been a fixture in Zone 2. The patrol officers depend on his knowledge of the area and his capabilities.
Bill also dedicates Thursday nights,during baseball season, to providing an additional law enforcement presence at the Jacksonville Suns Games.

Undersheriff Frank Mackesy and Police Sergeant Donald C. Wilfong, Police Supervisor of the Month
Sergeant Wilfong is a skilled supervisor who delivers excellent results. Sergeant Wilfong worked hard and provided excellent results for several investigations.

Undersheriff Frank Mackesy and Sergeant Donna S. McWaters
Sergeant Donna S. McWaters is February's Corrections Supervisor of the Month because she is knowledgeable, and respected by those in her chain of command and co-workers.
Donna has worked as the supervisor in-charge of the MCC Security section for three years. Her responsibilities include overseeing the Community Projects Team, the K-9 Search Team and the Security Program.
Donna is an excellent part of the JSO team. She demonstrates integrity, honesty, and excellence in all that she does. |
