Consumer Mediation Program
Consumer Mediation Program

The State Attorney's Office recognizes the importance of helping the consumer, and in compliance with Florida Statute 501, Part II, the State Attorney's Office has implemented a mediation program known as the Consumer Mediation Program (CMP). The purpose of this program is to bring the consumer and business representative together to discuss the unresolved problem. A mediator, appointed by the State Attorney's Office, hears both sides and offers assistance in resolving the differences. Agreements are put into writing and signed by both parties. Cases still unresolved may be reviewed by the Director of the Consumer Mediation Program. The Director may refer the case to an appropriate agency or refer it to a prosecutor for review.

How to file a complaint:  Complaints must be filed in person at one of the State Attorney's Office locations.  Detailed information is available on our Consumer Complaints page.

For additional information about the program, contact the CMP Director at
(904) 630-2075.
