Information For Parents and Guardians

Your child's school attendance is your responsibility.

Parents have been arrested and put in jail.

You could be arrested by police at your work place or other public venue.

Your child may never learn to read.

Your child may not receive his or her high school diploma.

Truant behavior has a direct link to a life of crime.

What you can do:

Be responsible for your child's attendance.

Demonstrate that you consider school attendance a priority.

Get involved with your child's school by volunteering and attending parent-teacher conferences.

Make an effort to communicate with the school.

Be an example by your own behavior - timely arrival at work and consistent attendance.

Communicate the dangers of not attending school.
