Frequently Asked Questions

Below are questions asked most often by residents of Jacksonville. If you unable to find an answer, please check the federal Recovery.gov Web site or e-mail stimulus@coj.net

1. When will I see the money and where will the money be coming from?
Money will begin to be distributed as early as May 2009. The money will be coming from federal and state levels, through grants, formulas, tax credits, bonds, and loans.

2. Where can I find out more about grants, including grant deadlines and where to turn in applications? Will there be extensions?
Please visit www.coj.net to find more information. The U.S. Government has stated that no extensions will be granted for any reason.

3. Will someone assist me with writing my grant proposal?
The City of Jacksonville will review your proposal, but will not rewrite the proposal. We also suggest considering partnering with another organization.

4. How do I partner with another organization?
The Non-Profit Center of Northeast Florida (www.nonprofitctr.org) will be assisting the City of Jacksonville with partnering interested organizations.
