Feb. 27, 2007 Zone 4 Crime Prevention Walk

Assistant Chief Tom Hackney,Sheriff Rutherford and Zone 4 patrol officers walked the Powers Park area on Feb. 27, 2007.

Crime Prevention Walks are designed to give the Sheriff and police officers a chance to visit with citizens in Jacksonville neighborhoods.

The walks are  an opportunity for police officers and citizens to connect with each other.

Citizens are encouraged to meet the Sheriff and discuss concerns or issues that are relevant to their neighborhood. The walks are an excellent way for JSO to provide information about crime prevention.

JSO Community Affairs offers a variety of crime prevention programs and services to meet your crime prevention needs. Community Affairs endeavors to control crime and the fear of crime through various methods involving citizens, community groups, civil agencies, criminal justice agencies, and the environment.

The next Crime Prevention Walk is scheduled for March 27, 2007 at 5 pm. The Sheriff will walk in Zone 6. Click here to learn more about Zone 6.
