City Council Seeks Nominations for 2012 "Robert O. Johnson Good Government Award"
April 04, 2012, Jacksonville, Fla. - Jacksonville City Council President Stephen C. Joost (At-Large, Group 3) announced today the formation of a committee to review the nominations for the 2012 “Robert O. Johnson Good Government Award”. The award was established by the Jacksonville City Council 2003 in honor of former City Council Auditor Robert O. Johnson. Each year, the award is bestowed upon an employee who has demonstrated a sustained and significant contribution to the increased efficiency and effectiveness of the City of Jacksonville or its Independent Agencies.

August 26, 2011 - The City of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Human Rights Commission has partnered with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Offic, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and OneJax to host a 10th year commemoration of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2011. The remembrance is free and open to the public.
City Council President Webb Appoints Ad Hoc Committee to Research Budget Savings Ideas
March 14, 2011 - Jacksonville City Council President Jack Webb today announced the appointment of an Ac Hoc Committee for FY11-12 Budget Savings Review. The three member committee comprised of Council members Stephen C. Joost, Chair, William H. Bishop and Warren A. Jones was tasked with preparing a set of recommendations for possible budget saving strategies to be considered by the Mayor and Finance Committee during the upcoming budget preparation process.
