Museum of Science and History
1025 Museum Circle
Jacksonville, Florida 32207
Join the Museum of Science & History for the Jacksonville premier of a digitally animated short film based on the historic Jacques Le Moyne and Theodore de Bry engravings of early Florida.
The film, produced by the UF Digital Worlds Institute for the George A. Smathers Library with assistance from the France-Florida Research Institute, is narrated by renowned Florida historian Dr. Michael Gannon. A string quartet from the University of Florida will play the original film score live during the showing and historical archaeologist Dr. John de Bry, descendent of Theodore de Bry, will provide context for these iconic engravings. The historic images featured in the film are scans of original artifacts from the personal collection of Michael W. and Dr. Linda Fisher of Jacksonville, Florida. To learn more, visit www.themosh.org.
