Public Facilities

The start of the 21st century found many of Jacksonville's notable public facilities were old and too small to adequately serve the area's growing population.

The Better Jacksonville Plan provided over half a billion dollars for new and improved public facilities, including the largest library expansion in the city's history.

Of the 22 public facility projects, all but the new County Courthouse are complete.

Note: Figures shown below reflect the total BJP funding provided to each project and may not represent the project's entire budget.

Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena - $130 million

Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville - $34 million

New Main Library - $95 million

New Library Branches/Renovations - $55 million

Duval County Courthouse - $211 million
