Notice is hereby given that the Jacksonville Ethics Commission (EC) will meet Monday, May 9, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the Don Davis room on the first floor of City Hall.  This is the regular monthly meeting of the Ethics Commission.  The Ethics Commission will discuss the Inspector General’s recent six-month report to the Inspector General Selection and Retention Committee and City Council, an upcoming joint meeting with the TRUE Commission and the Ethics Commission, and strategic planning for the Ethics Commission committees.

*112.324(2)(a), (c), (e), F.S., provide in pertinent part:  “The complaint and records relating to the complaint or to any preliminary investigation held by…a Commission on Ethics and Public Trust established by any…municipality…are confidential and exempt from the provisions of s. 119.07(1) and s. 24(a), Art. I of the State Constitution. Any . . . proceeding conducted by…a Commission on Ethics and Public Trust, …pursuant to a complaint or preliminary investigation, is exempt from the provisions of s. 286.011, s 24(b), Art. I of the State Constitution, and s. 120.525. The exemptions in paragraphs (a)-(d) apply until:  1.  [t]he complaint is dismissed as legally insufficient; [t]he alleged violator requests in writing that such records and proceedings be made public; 3. [t]he commission determines that it will not investigate the referral; or 4.  . . . a Commission on Ethics and Public Trust . . . determines, based on such investigation, whether probable cause exists to believe that a violation has occurred.”
