Organizational Development
Investing in our workforce through training

The Organizational Development office is dedicated to enhancing the work environment through training, leadership development, performance management, tuition reimbursement, team building and mentoring. This office is responsible for developing and implementing the Leadership Development Academy (LDA) which is a curriculum of 64 hours of leadership training to prepare the city’s employees with the skills necessary to become a supervisor or become a better supervisor. Since its inception in October 2008, over 1200 employees have enrolled in Leadership Development Academy classes. As a result of the LDA, the Executive Leadership Academy was implemented to target department directors and division chiefs. This training is a modified version of LDA and is presented in an abbreviated form at staff meetings. The Management Leadership Academy will begin this fiscal year and is designed for current supervisors and management.
