Approximately 800 swimmers are expected to participate in the 2012 JaxParks Swim Classic. Among those competing will be JaxParks Select, a team comprised of approximately 86 area youth selected from JaxParks summer swim program. Episcopal School contributed its coaches and swimming facility to work with the team, who began weekly Saturday practices in early September 2011. Episcopal also provided a scholarship for each swimmer that covered registration fees, a swim suit and cap.
Episcopal and JaxParks partnered to form JaxParks Select to offer area youth, who are interested in swimming but need financial assistance and other support, an opportunity to swim in a competitive environment.
JaxParks Swim Classic is hosted by the Amberjax Swim Team and sponsored by Baker’s Sporting Goods.
