Summer Lunch

The Jacksonville Children’s Commission is the local sponsor of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Summer Lunch Program, which provides nutritious snacks and lunches to children under 18. Children do not need to be enrolled in camps or activities at the program sites to receive a meal; they just need to show up during mealtime. Program sites are located in parks, housing complexes, churches, recreation centers public libraries and summer camps around Jacksonville. A 'Free Lunch Served Here' banner is posted at each site with the meal times indicated. Each year, more than 12,000 Duval County children receive nutritious snacks and lunches at no cost to parents through the Summer Lunch Program. A list of Summer Lunch Program sites for 2012 will be available on this website by mid-June.

To apply to become a feeding site for the 2012 Summer Lunch Program, you must send a completed 2012 Summer Lunch Program Site Application to the Jacksonville Children's Commission at the address below. Blank applications are available online or at the Jacksonville Children's Commission.
