Duval County Emergency Management encourages individuals to be prepared so that in the face of adversity we can effectively and efficiently respond as a community together.  According to the National Incident Management System (NIMS), Preparedness is defined as "a continuous cycle of planning, organizing, training, equipping, exercising, evaluating, and taking corrective action in an effort to ensure effective coordination during incident response".  If we are prepared, we are JaxReady!

As a team of public organizations, private organizations, individuals, families and communties we can be prepared through taking advantage of public education opportunities, create disaster plans, developing disaster kits, and determining how our businesses will continue to operate following an incident.
