Duval Circuit and County Courts and Clerk of Court are moving to the new Duval County Unified Courthouse Facility - impact on operations from Wednesday, May 16th through Tuesday, May 29th, 2012.
Jacksonville, FL – May 9, 2012: On Friday, May 18th, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. the Duval County Courthouse located at 330 East Bay Street in downtown Jacksonville, Florida will close. At this time, the Court and Clerk's office will begin moving to the new Duval County Unified Courthouse Facility located at 501 West Adams Street, also in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. The following outlines the modified operations for the Court and Clerk during the move.
Court Modified Operations
In preparation for the move, the Court has developed a plan with the Clerk of Court to handle
emergency filings and emergency court business. Starting Monday, May 21st continuing through Friday, May 25th, from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., all
emergency filings &
emergency court business will be handled at the Emergency Filings & Operations area located in the Courthouse Annex next door to the existing courthouse at 220 East Bay Street, in the Jury Assembly Area, Room 100. Duty Judges will be available to handle
emergency filings. Please adhere to the Clerk of Court’s requirements and procedures regarding non-emergency filings as referenced below and on its website at
http://www.duvalclerk.com/move. The Court’s website will be updated with any changes that may occur during the move. Please visit

Please note if you have a court hearing at the Courthouse Branch, 3470 Beach Boulevard (adjacent to the Traffic Violations Bureau), these hearings will be held as scheduled.
Injunction hearings will continue in J-2 at the Pre-trial Detention facility at 501East Adams Street.
Clerk Modified Operations
In preparation for the moving process, operations will be reduced starting on Wednesday, May 16th at 5:00 P.M., and normal operations will be suspended from Friday, May 18th at 5:00pm until the move is complete on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012.
To facilitate the completion of new case filings prior to the move, if you wish to file a new case or a non-emergency filing before the move is completed, you must do so before Wednesday, May 16th at 5:00 P.M. Starting on Thursday, May 17th, only emergency filings will be accepted, with the constitution of an emergency to be determined by the judiciary. Any filing or business to be conducted on or before Friday, May 18th at 5:00 P.M. should be handled in the appropriate department at the existing Courthouse.
Starting on Monday, May 21st, and continuing until Friday, May 25th, all emergency filings & emergency business should be handled at the Emergency Filings & Operations area located in the Courthouse Annex (next door to the existing Courthouse) at 220 East Bay Street, in the Jury Assembly Area, Room 100.
Payments for felony & misdemeanor cases should be made at the Traffic Violations Bureau located at 3470 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida. Misdemeanor court dates may also be set at the Traffic Violations Bureau.
The satellite offices, the Traffic Violations Bureau (3470 Beach Boulevard) and Beaches Branch (1543 Atlantic Boulevard, Tradewinds Plaza) will remain open and operating normally with the restriction of emergency-only filings continuing to apply at the Atlantic Beach location. If you have a court hearing at the Courthouse branch adjacent to the Traffic Violations Bureau, these will remain held as scheduled.
In the interest of reducing your time spent waiting in line during this transition, it is suggested wherever possible that any business be conducted before the move, or held until after the move is complete, as the office capacity will be limited during the move process. If you have business that must be conducted during the move, please allow for extra time in handling such business in your schedule.
The Court’s online services will remain in operation for the majority of the moving process, with scheduled downtime on Saturday, May 19th, 2012 from 1:00 P.M. until 12:00 midnight. This scheduled downtime will include the Court & official records searches and our regular public website & services. Online payment of traffic citations, electronic filing via the State of Florida ePortal, and access to the RealAuction Foreclosure & Tax Deeds websites will not be interrupted.
Non-emergency filings made via the State of Florida ePortal will be accepted, but will NOT be processed until after the move is completed on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012. If you have emergency filings, it is recommended that you bring them to the attention of the staff in Emergency Filings & Operations area in the Courthouse Annex (220 East Bay Street, in the Jury Assembly Area, Room 100. There will be NO foreclosure sale or tax deed auctions held during the move.
IMPORTANT: New Duval County Unified Courthouse Business
If you have court business at the new Duval County Unified Courthouse after it opens on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, please make sure that you give yourself enough time to arrive at your hearing or scheduled appointment.
We recommend that you ARRIVE AT LEAST ONE (1) HOUR PRIOR to your scheduled hearing or appointment to provide plenty of time to find parking and to navigate through the new Courthouse. Parking can be found on the surface lots and garages surrounding the courthouse.
The Florida Courts System is divided into five districts that are made up of 20 judicial circuits and are further broken down into 67 counties.
The Fourth Judicial Circuit is comprised of Clay, Duval and Nassau Counties. Currently, only Duval County Court is fully represented on this website. However, the court functions for Clay and Nassau Counties will be added in the near future.
