Office of Inspector General
"Enhancing Public Trust in Government Through Indpependent and Responsible Oversight."

Thank you for visiting our website and learning more about the Office of Inspector General (OIG).  The OIG was created to provide increased accountability, integrity, and oversight of the entire City of Jacksonville consolidated government.  In order to accomplish this mandate our office conducts investigations, audits, and contract oversight activities.  The OIG was established by ordinance in October of 2014.  In March of 2015, a Charter Referendum expanded the jurisdiction of the OIG.  The expansion of jurisdiction was effective on January 1, 2016.

Since our establishment, the dedicated employees of the OIG, along with the help of the citizens and employees of the consolidated government, have been working together to identify fraud, waste, and abuse in order to ensure the consolidated government is as effective and efficient as possible.

Please take time to read and review our reports and learn more about the OIG.  Feel free to contact our office with any questions about the OIG’s mission, jurisdiction, or goals.
