Jacksonville's consolidated city-county government structure eliminates duplicate services and encourages communication between government entities which lowers taxes and increases the efficiency of government.

Jacksonville's millage rate of 18.3296 on real property is the lowest of all major cities in Florida, and the state's revised $50,000 homestead exemption plan adds additional relief to the already benign tax burden.
