Become a Mentor! The Introduction to Mentoring course is a comprehensive and interactive two-hour training class that prepares volunteers for the mentoring experience by giving them the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to be successful during their time spent with their mentee.  Our goal is for all mentors to have an enjoyable and rewarding experience both as a volunteer and a mentor.
Introdiuction to Mentoring training classes are typically held at the Jacksonville Children's Commission, and provided by the Commission's Training Specialists. Volunteers who are interested in becoming mentors will be required to undergo a thorough background screening, utilizing Live-Scan fingerprinting, prior to being matched with a child.
