Mayor Alvin Brown will host a Veterans Summit to draw attention to the needs and challenges of today’s veterans regarding employment and other important issues. The City of Jacksonville’s Military Affairs, Veterans and Disabled Services Department organized the summit in partnership with UNF’s Military and Veterans Resource Center. Mayor Brown will attend the 10 a.m. opening assembly and welcome guests and moderators, prior to the breakout sessions.
The inaugural Veterans Summit will provide service members, veterans and their families a chance to take part in a dialogue regarding the challenges and needs of local veterans. Attendees will be participating in breakout Sessions moderated by local subject matter experts in the fields of ADA accessibility, PTSD and Human Resources.
