Military Affairs, Veterans and Disabled Services

Combining the expertise of two offices, this Department is well-suited to the special needs of members of the armed forces and their families, veterans and people with disabilities. The Department works closely with area defense facilities and encourages the military missions they perform. The staff assists Veterans and their families file claims and apply for social and educational assistance. In addition, the division increases awareness of the successes and needs of disabled persons, monitors legislation related to people with disabilities and advises the mayor regarding compliance with that legislation.
