Social media and professional networks play a huge role in today's job market. Approximately 4% of resumes submitted blindly through a company's online website result in an interview, let alone a hire. The reality is that your network (personal and extended) is the key to finding meaningful work anywhere in the world. Studies show that employee referrals increase your chances of getting a job by 11x. This workshop teaches you how to build and expand an online network that supports your career goals. I teach you how to build a personal brand, market yourself, and use LinkedIn to support your search. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of:

1) Setting up a LinkedIn profile that attracts recruiters and supports their personal brand

2) Using their profile/network to get job referrals

3) Leveraging the LinkedIn platform to support all facets of their career change. This includes identifying mentors, conducting informational interviews, and identifying job opportunities.

This is a hands-on workshop with all participants working on their profile. Every participant will get a professional review of their profile prior to departing the workshop (if desired). Preferred attire for the class is business or business casual, depending on the individual's career goals.
