Floridan Aquifer Well Requirements

Pursuant to Title X, Chapter 366.401-409, all Floridan aquifer wells within wellhead protection areas shall be registered with the city. In order to prevent the downward migration of surface contaminants into the aquifer, each well shall be fitted with a five-foot square, at least 3-inches thick, concrete pad around the well casing. Additionally, all Floridan Aquifer wells shall have an approved backflow prevention device and a sanitary seal on the wellhead.
