City Partners With Non-Profits To Observe "International Surfing Day" With Beach Cleanups

The City of Jacksonville and Keep Jacksonville Beautiful (KJB) will partner with the First Coast chapter of the Surfrider Foundation for a beach cleanup at the Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier. 
Trash bags and gloves will be distributed onsite to volunteers. Cleanup participants must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by an adult, and all participants should wear sturdy footwear and sun protection. Advance registration is not required.
 
The trash cleanup event will also feature a cigarette litter cleanup and friendly competition with prizes for winners, as well as a live concert, games and surfing demonstrations. Keep America Beautiful, KJB’s national affiliate, will distribute portable ash trays.
