An Ice Cream Truck Operator may be obtained from the Neighborhoods Department Office of Consumer Affairs provided the applicant meets the criteria. For the most efficient permitting process the following procedure is best:
  • Submit complete application along with $100 application fee for each operator (driver and/or seller) to: Neighborhoods Department Office of Consumer Affairs, 214 N. Hogan Street, 7th Floor, Jacksonville, FL, 32202, or by phone at (904) 630-2489.
  • Within 30 days, the Office of Consumer Affairs will conduct a background check on the Applicant and review the application.
  • Upon approval of the application, the Applicant will receive an ID badge issued by the City of Jacksonville that must be worn by the Applicant/Operator at all times while operating the ice cream truck.
