The City of Jacksonville's Sports & Entertainment Office leads the city's direction in sports, special events and film & television production. It is further responsible for directing the city’s facility manager (SMG) to operate city-owned facilities such as EverBank Field, Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, Prime Osborn Convention Center, Times Union Center for the Performing Arts and the Ritz Theatre & Museum.
The Office of Special Events permits and produces events which positively contribute to the quality of life and culture for the residents and visitors of Jacksonville. Events such as the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, World of Nations Celebration, the Sea & Sky Spectacular Air Show and the Georgia-Florida football game drive economic impact for the city as well as market Northeast Florida as a premier destination for visitors.
