Our Mission:

To promote awareness and knowledge of, sensitivity to and support for family caregiving in Northeast Florida.

 Our Vision:

All family caregivers will have knowledge of and access to resources that support them and those in their care.

Take Care Of Yourself: It's Important!

A 2008 National Alliance for Caregiving/AARP study found that caregivers are at risk for high levels of stress, frustration, anxiety, exhaustion, anger, depression, increased use of alcohol or other substances. They also may exhibit reduced immune response and have poor physical health and other chronic conditions. Many neglect their own care, which may lead to higher mortality rates than non-caregivers.

In other words, if you stop taking care of yourself - by avoiding doctor visits, a healthy diet, regular exercise or recreational activities - you may be at risk for a host of medical conditions.

It doesn't have to be that way.

Have fun, get pampered and renew your caregiving spirit on one special day, Saturday, April 26, at Caregiver Expo 2014! You'll meet exhibitors with practical advice and services to help you in your caregiving role.

Several will offer no-cost health screenings, door prizes and fun services, too, such as bookstores, spas, travel agencies, gyms and salons. You'll also hear from three nationally recognized caregiver experts who will inspire you. More information on the Expo can be found below.

We can't wait to see you April 26!
