Calling all modern day treasure hunters ... the 2017 JaxParks GeoCache Challenge is here!

The Challenge
Welcome to the 2017 JaxParks Geocache Challenge!  JaxParks is teaming up again with the Friends of JaxParks Geocachers and REI to present another amazing Challenge that will take you to parks all over Jacksonville.  In this high-tech treasure hunt, participants will have the opportunity to earn a newly designed "geocoin" by finding hidden caches in 25 of the 30 featured parks.

How It Works
Thirty containers, or caches, are hidden in parks throughout the city. Participants will use a global positions system (GPS) device to locate the caches.  There will be a kick-off event on Saturday, September 2, 2017 @ 10am at Blue Cypress Park Community Center which will include food and an opportunity to download the GPS coordinates for the Challenge caches.  For those not able to attend, the GPS coordinates will be published on www.geocaching.com on September 3, 2017.

The official brochure, verification passport and additional details and rules for this year's Challenge can be found at our partner's website: http://jaxparkschallenge.wordpress.com/.

The Coin
To obtain your trackable coin, take a completed passport to REI in Jacksonville.  The first 100 participants to check in with a unique geocaching name will receive a coin.  REI Retailers, is located at 4862 Big Island Drive in Jacksonville's Town Center.
