Aging TrueCaregiver Coalition Spotlight: Aging True

In 2011, Cathedral Foundation of Jacksonville Inc. and Urban Jacksonville Inc. formally changed its name to Aging True to better reflect the services they provide and the seniors they serve. The name "Aging True" speaks to their support and celebration of independent, graceful aging through their comprehensive programs and services -- what aging should be.

Aging True is a non-profit, charitable organization enabling home-based senior independence in Northeast Florida. They have served hundreds of thousands of seniors, their families and the community in five decades of operation. Through the services their professionals developed and administer, they provide seniors with the care and assistance they need to live independently. Their health, nutritional and financial care programs are designed specifically to serve and educate the frail elderly and disabled in our region.

Their mission is to provide essential and innovative services and care for individuals, families and communities throughout Northeast Florida to prepare for and support graceful aging.

Aging TrueAging True services reach more than 6,000 Northeast Florida seniors each year. Their dedicated focus on the needs of seniors is steadfast, and as the number of seniors in need continues to grow, their programs and services become even more vital.

Caregiving Reports/In The News

The National Alliance for Caregiving's report, Best Practices in Workplace Eldercare, has been mentioned in a new article in the Chicago Tribune. Gail Hunt, President and CEO of the Alliance, was interviewed for the article. Read the article.

A major new report shows the dramatic toll Alzheimer's disease is taking on women in the United States. The report looks at the increasing cost to their personal and professional lives as well as women's pocketbooks. The study, Women and Alzheimer's Disease: The Caregiver's Crisis, surveyed 1,204 current and former caregivers who provide unpaid care for loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's disease and was commissioned by the Working Mother Research Institute.
