
The Police and Fire Pension Fund mourns the unexpected passing of Dick Cohee, Deputy Executive Director - Assistant Administrator of the Fund on Thursday, January 5, 2012.
Dick Cohee joined the Police and Fire Pension Fund in 1998. He previously served as the Treasurer for the City of Jacksonville. As such, he was also statutorily designated as the Fund Treasurer for both the Police and Fire Pension Fund and the General Employees Pension Fund.
Prior to his retirement from the City of Jacksonville, Dick was with the City's Consolidated Government for almost 25 years, serving in a variety of positions including that of Principal Internal Auditor, Deputy Director of Finance and Interim Director of Finance. He had earned both a BA and a MBA from the University of North Florida and was a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Finance Officer, Certified Retirement Administrator, and a Certified Retirement Counselor. He was a member of the Government Finance Officers Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Before coming to the City, Mr. Cohee also worked for the Duval County School Board and the Federal Reserve Bank. He is survived by his wife, Debra and son Jason. May he rest in peace.
