Lieutenant Burns became a member of the Pension Advisory Committee in 2010.
Ellis began his career as a Police Officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office in October, 2000 and is a second generation member of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. He graduated from the University of North Florida in August 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice. He is an active member of the JSO Honor Guard and serves as the Honor Guard Commander. He was promoted to Lieutenant in December, 2013, and is currently assigned to the Investigations and Homeland Security Division as the Violent Crimes Task Force Unit Commander.
