Former Mayor's, numerous current and former elected officials and thousands of friends and well wishers were awaiting the Inaugural ceremonies.

Mayor Alvin Brown addresses the crowd of supporters at his inauguration ceremony. "Thank you for joining me on this historic occasion" Brown said. "I want to thank God for His grace and His mercy. It is because of His grace, His mercy ... I can stand here today and say I am the Mayor of Jacksonville."

Mayor Alvin Brown paid tribute to Jacksonville's previous Mayors highlighting their accomplishments. 
"Jacksonville's future will be restricted only by the lmits we place on our dreams"

"We want to be a destination, not a pass-through,"
Brown said eliciting a standing ovation from the convention center crowd.

Mayor Brown credited his Mother and Grandmother for shaping his future. He also thanked his long time Pastor and the former President of Jacksonville University for their individual support.
