Jerry Holland, Property Appraiser Duval County, Florida
Jerry Holland was elected unopposed as Duval County Property Appraiser in March 2015. One of his first priorities as Property Appraiser will be to take an aggressive approach investigating and combating exemption fraud.
Jerry Holland, was elected into office as Duval County’s Supervisor of Elections in a 2005 Special Election. He is honored to have had the opportunity to serve the citizens of Duval County for ten years as Supervisor of Elections.
Throughout his term as Supervisor, he registered more than 64,415 students in Countywide Student Voter Registration Drives held each school year, updated the county elections systems for tabulation and voter check-in, and met every statutory deadline while in office. As Supervisor, he also participated in a historic election tie, the first recorded in Duval County, where, by state statute, the winner was ultimately chosen by a game of chance.
Holland also served as the 2002-2003 President of Jacksonville City Council during his first term on the Council. From 2004-2005, he served as President of the Northeast Regional Planning Council and from 2014-2015 served as President of the Florida State Association of Supervisor of Elections.
Holland earned his Master’s degree in Education and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Transportation and Logistics form the University of North Florida. He is a State of Florida certified General Contractor, Real Estate Broker and Certified Florida Appraiser.
