Red Light Cameras Now Operational

JACKSONVILLE, FL (March 7, 2013) – Starting on Friday, March 1, 2013 Notices of Violation ($158) are now being issued for video enforcement violations at three intersection approaches in Jacksonville.

Look for the "Respect the Red" logo under Traffic News on the homepage of this website for a list of locations and more information about Jacksonville's Red Light Enforcement Program.
Others are scheduled to begin in the upcoming weeks. Recorded infractions are all reviewed by a certified police officers. Those that are determined to be violations receive the Notice of Violation and a link to a video of the violation as it occurred.

Sheriff John Rutherford held a news conference on Friday, January 11, 2013 to announce that construction was scheduled to begin at several approaches on Monday, January 14, 2013.

"Respect the Red" is a campaign designed to educate drivers about the seriousness of running red lights, how the notices of violation work, and to provide the public with an easy way to follow all construction and “go live” dates for the various sites.
