JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 12, 2013) –
Downtown Jacksonville will be the hub of activity for One Spark during the day and night Wednesday, April 17 – Sunday, April 21. In preparation for these many events, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office would like to make the public aware of the traffic patterns that will be in place.

Road Closures: 

Wednesday, April 17 at 9 a.m. through Sunday, April 21 at 5 p.m.:
  • Laura Street from Duval Street to Independent Drive. (Bay Street and Forsyth Street will continue to flow)
  • Independent Drive from Hogan Street to Laura Street. (Closed on an as needed basis)
  • Hogan Street from Water Street to the cul-de-sac at the St. Johns River will be closed.
  • Adams Street from Hogan Street to Main Street.
  • Monroe Street from Hogan Street to Main Street.
  • Duval Street from Hogan Street to Laura Street.
Wednesday, April 17 through Friday, April 19 from 6 p.m. to midnight each night:
  • Bay Street will be CLOSED to eastbound/westbound traffic from Ocean to Liberty streets. Cars will still be able to travel northbound/southbound.
 
Recommended roads to use: Church Street, Hogan Street and Main Street

**Access to residences and businesses adversely effected in the One Spark’s Creator Zone – Police Officers will be present to assist in arrival and departure at these locations.

 
Main Street Bridge Closure on Saturday, April 20
The Main Street Bridge will be closed from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. to all vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic on Saturday, April 20, for the Florida Theatre’s “Rock the Bridge Gala”. For information about access on the St. Johns River, please contact the U.S. Coast Guard at http://www.uscg.mil/d7/sectjacksonville/.
 
If you are headed downtown on Saturday, April 20 please use an alternate route. The Hart Bridge and Mathews Bridge are scheduled to be open to accommodate traffic.
 
Mathews Bridge Schedule
  • Wednesday, April 17 - Both eastbound lanes of the Mathews Bridge are scheduled to be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday, April 18.
  • Thursday, April 18 – The Mathews Bridge is scheduled to be completely closed in both directions from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday, April 19.
  • Friday, April 19 – The Mathews Bridge is scheduled to be completely closed in both directions from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 20.
  • Saturday, April 20 – The Mathews Bridge is scheduled to be open starting at 8 a.m. to accommodate traffic for several events downtown.
  • Sunday, April 21 – The Mathews Bridge is scheduled to be open.
 

Parking and Transportation Information: (Information provided by the City of Jacksonville and One Spark 2013)

 
Shuttle Service
Free shuttle service will run to and from Everbank Field/Lot E - one of the free parking locations during One Spark. Shuttles will run during Creator Zone operating hours.
 
Skyway
A free parking area is located at the Prime Obsorn III Convention Center and attendees can ride the Skyway free of charge in to the Creator Zone. The Skyway will operate Wednesday to Friday, 6 a.m.-3 a.m., Saturday, 8 a.m.-3 a.m. and Sunday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
 
Water Taxi
The S.S. Marine Taxi will ferry visitors across the St. Johns River from the Southbank to the Jacksonville Landing downtown. During One Spark, the water taxi will operate on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. -11 p.m. Rates are $3 for adults, and $2 for seniors (age 60 and over) and children (ages 3 -12). Trolley
The Riverside Trolley (Route TR1) stops at Hemming Plaza, the Jacksonville Landing, and other event hotspots. During One Spark, the Trolley will run every twenty minutes Wednesday to Friday, 6 a.m. - 7:55 p.m. and every 60 minutes on Saturday, 8 a.m.- 7:30 p.m. Regular fare is $1.50 per trip.
 
PARKING: In addition to the free parking lots at the Prime Osborn III Convention Center and EverBank Field, Lot E, metered parking, paid lots and garages are all options for parking. For more information and locations, visit
