Police Reserve Officer Program

A Reserve Officer is a person who has met the training requirements prescribed by the Florida Criminal Justice standards and training commissions for individuals who aid, assist and function while under direct supervision of certified police officers.

The primary functions of the reserve are to ride along with certified police officers and to work at special events in the city.

You will go through a background check, polygraph test, physical agility test and oral board. If approved, you must attend Police Academy classes for about 300 hours and a field training program.

Become a member of the Police Reserve. Call (904) 630-2134.

Young people can join Police Explorers. Call (904) 630-2160.
