Marine Unit

Police BoatThe Marine Unit is assigned to the Special Events Division. The unit patrols 139 square miles of inland waterways and conducts boat inspections, cites offenders for waterway violations, and provides safe boating seminars, speakers and inspections.

The Marine Unit continues its efforts in boater safety education by conducting boating safety classes and participating in boater safety programs at the Jacksonville Boat Show and other venues.

The Marine Unit performs boater safety inspections on the waterways as well as at the boat ramps around the county each year.

The Marine Unit also manages the River Watch program. This program is a crime prevention and safety program for the waterways.
