The Property Recovery Unit is staffed by two detectives and two civilian employees who are responsible for ensuring the more than 58 pawnshops and 115 second hand-dealers operating in Duval County and the Beaches are following proper procedures in regards to property sold at their locations.
The Property Recovery Unit is also responsible for monitoring nine Jacksonville flea markets and manages the out-of-county recovery of property stolen from Duval County.
The Property Recovery Unit works closely with other sections of the Investigations Division, as well as other law enforcement agencies to facilitate the recovery of stolen property.
