Interagency Special Investigations Unit
The Interagency Special Investigations Unit (ISI) detective provides investigative and enforcement support to such City agencies as the JEA, Environmental and Resource Management Department, Public Works and the Neighborhoods Department. 
The detective assigned to this unit investigates the illegal dumping of appliances, tires, waste oil, roofing materials (asbestos), construction and demolition debris, yard waste, lead acid batteries, and bio-hazardous waste.

In 2011, the Interagency Unit was assigned 217 cases, arrested 23 suspects, and compelled 78 violators into compliance, who cleaned up their sites that were under review by law enforcement and city agencies.*
Much of the unit's success with compliance or prosecution comes through coordinating efforts with other regulatory and criminal justice agencies.
