Arrest Made In Bert Road Murder

JACKSONVILLE, FL (February 1, 2012) – On Monday, January 30, 2012 police were called to 1033 Bert Rd. in reference to a shooting.  Two victims were found shot.  One victim, Cecil Coleman, 34 years old was deceased while the other was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

Suspect Andrew Simmons

Investigation revealed the suspect, Andrew Simmons, 25 years old was an acquaintance to the victims.  His photo was put out to the local media.  The suspect saw himself on television and turned himself into police.

The suspect was charged with Aggravated Battery and Murder charges are forthcoming by the State Attorney's Office.
