Burglary Suspects Sought – Elderly Targeted

April 13, 2017
JACKSONVILLE, FL (April 13, 2017) - On Tuesday, March 28, 2017 an elderly male victim reported a burglary to his house in the Arlington area.  There were no signs of forced entry.  Jewelry and a safe were determined to be missing.
As detectives began following up this case, it was determined that on Monday, March 27, 2017 the elderly male was sitting in front of his house when a silver Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck pulled into his driveway.  A suspect got out of the truck and asked the victim if he needed trees trimmed.  The suspect then stated he knew the house behind him was vacant and wanted him and his friend to go into the backyard to check on the condition of the house because he was interested in buying it.  The victim allowed them to go into his backyard.  One suspect came back to the front and asked the victim for a glass of water.  The victim allowed the suspect to go into his house to get a glass of water.  The victim did not follow the suspects around because he has a medical condition that does not allow him to move well.
Video surveillance of the house determined the two suspects burglarized the victim without him knowing. The suspects were at his residence for around 45 minutes.  Video clips can be located at:  https://www.facebook.com/JacksonvilleSheriffsOffice/videos/10154563558467896/.
