JACKSONVILLE, FL (December 7, 2017) - Our partners at FDOT are as excited about the Jaguars upcoming home games as we all are! In a letter to a concerned citizen, they explain that their project to improve our roadways (specifically the Hart Bridge) will not interfere with traffic into downtown on Sunday, December 10 or Sunday, December 17. In a letter to a concerned citizen they said:
Thank you for your concern related to closures associated with the Hart Bridge rehabilitation construction project. This project is expected to be completed early next year and will prolong the life of the bridge.
Whenever possible, the Florida Department of Transportation limits detours and lane closures to the nighttime hours. Additionally, restrictions are placed on roadwork during certain holidays and special events. For this reason, the most recent detours of the Hart Bridge were completed by 6 a.m. on Sunday, December 5. Generally speaking, on state roadways and bridges work and/or detours are not permitted when there is a special event with a large number of attendees expected in the downtown Jacksonville area.
Thank you again for your concern. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to call me at the numbers below.
Thanks, Hampton Ray
