JACKSONVILLE, FL (January 26, 2012) – Events scheduled in the downtown area on Saturday, January 28, 2012 will coincide with the Mathews Bridge closure, also scheduled for the weekend.
The Wolfson Children’s Hospital’s “Run 5 to Keep Kids Alive” event starts at 2 p.m. at the Jacksonville Landing. The race route will affect traffic on the Acosta Bridge and the Main Street Bridge until approximately 3:45 p.m. If you are leaving the Arlington area attempting to travel north during the event please use the Hart Bridge or the Dames Point Bridge. The Mathews Bridge is scheduled to be completely closed in both directions from Friday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office wants to make sure drivers know to use alternate routes when entering or leaving downtown.
