Second Harvest Food Bank, Local Businesses, Organizations, and JSO Feed 10,000 Jacksonville Citizens In Need

JACKSONVILLE, FL (November 21, 2011) – On Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 JSO Officers assigned to Operation Safe Streets (OSS) and the New Town area of Jacksonville (Patrol Zone 5) volunteered with the Second Harvest Food Bank to prepare and distribute 2,500 Thanksgiving baskets to citizens in need.


Distribution of Baskets


The 2,500 baskets that will feed 10,000 people were distributed in Parking Lot E at EverBank Field on Friday morning.
 
In addition, Second Harvest Food Bank gave officers 100 baskets to distribute to families in need that reside in New Town. Many of the baskets will be taken to a senior citizen facility in the area.
