Traffic Citation Unit
Members of the unit are accountable for the inventory, maintenance, and issuance of Warning Citations, Notice to Appear Citations and Uniform Traffic Citation Books to sworn agency personnel.
In 2011, unit personnel processed and forwarded to the Clerk of Court more than 109,000 uniform traffic citations that were issued to persons cited for traffic violations. Traffic Citation Unit personnel also collect, and document the receipt of, traffic warning citations, confiscated driver’s licenses, and confiscated vehicle license plates.
In 2011, more than 43,000 traffic warning citations were issued by officers of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
