Jacksonville Children's Commission

Jacksonville Children's CommissionCreated in 1994 as an expression of the community’s commitment to children-- and to a vibrant, safe and prosperous future-- the Jacksonville Children’s Commission, is a semi-autonomous entity of the City of Jacksonville. Operating under the philosophy that children are assets in the making, our goal is to help Jacksonville's families grow great kids into well-educated, independent members of the community, building a better future one child at a time. This is accomplished by sponsoring research-based programs to help ensure that children from birth to age 18 have stable, nurturing families; are prepared to enter kindergarten and succeed in school; have support and guidance during out-of-school times; and get extra help when they need it.

Download the 2013 Summer Camps List

Camp programs are open to Duval County children who are 5 years-old by Sept. 1, 2013 AND entering kindergarten this fall, through 15 years of age. All camps do not serve the entire age range—parents should contact the camps individually to inquire.

Children participating in the free/reduced lunch program, those with documented special needs, or recipients of the McKay Scholarship or Children First Florida Scholarship are eligible for seats at selected camps.

Registration for all camps is conducted by each individual camp location. Parents/caregivers interested in enrolling their child in camp this summer should contact the camps directly to learn more about how and when to register their child.

For questions or more information about Children's Commission-funded camps, contact Chandra Brown at 630-7260.
