Medtronic expansion helps to grow Jacksonville’s life sciences sector

Medical technology company Medtronic has broken ground on an expansion in Jacksonville’s Southside, a move expected to create 175 new jobs with an average salary of $80,000.

Medtronic already has 600 employees in Jacksonville, part of a hearty life sciences sector already employing one-fifth of the workforce, according to a 2011 University of North Florida Study.
