Jacksonville Journey Reconvenes June 8, 2011

On June 8, 2011, the group of 140+ community leaders who served as steering and subcommittee members and helped make The Jacksonville Journey a reality reconvened to discuss the program’s progress. Mayor John Peyton, Mayor-elect Alvin Brown, Sheriff John Rutherford, State Attorney Angela Corey and current and past Oversight Committee members recapped the program and examined results. From after-school programs and capital investments to additional police, correctional and communication officers, Journey dollars are making a difference in our community. Mayor-elect Brown applauded the Journey’s measurable results at reducing crime and pledged his continuing support for the program.
